Our Services

We offer in-home board game sessions for children aged 8+, bringing a full library of games to your door. Whether it's for a playdate, birthday treat, or just some structured downtime, our sessions can be tailored to suit:

Ages 8 to 18+

1 to 10 children (from one or multiple households)

Flexible lengths and formats

Custom game selections or your own favourites

Discounts for longer sessions and group bookings

And you won’t need to fill your cupboards with games your child tries once and forgets — we bring everything with us.

We’re not loud, in-your-face, or hectic. Instead, we use a gentle, kind, and adaptive approach — helping children feel comfortable, supported, and included, whether they’re confident or a little anxious.

We host every session together, taking the time to get to know the children and their interests. Through positive reinforcement and thoughtful guidance, we help kids have fun while naturally developing social, emotional, and strategic skills — without even realising they’re learning.

Parent Info & Safety

We are not a registered childcare provider and do not offer formal supervision. Parents or guardians must remain reachable by phone at all times during sessions.

We both hold enhanced DBS checks and have extensive safeguarding experience from our tutoring work. We also carry public liability insurance for peace of mind.

Think of us as friendly, trusted guests who host and guide the fun — no pressure, no noise, no mess left behind.

We offer competitive pricing and bespoke packages depending on group size and session length, with discounts available for repeat bookings and sibling/friend groups.

Pricing Notes

Base rate: £40 per hour (covers first child)
Additional children: £15 each (flat rate)
4+ hours discount: 10% off total cost
Minimum booking: 1 child for 1 hour

About Us

We’re two experienced former tutors with over 2,000 hours working with children, including those with special educational needs (SEN), and we hold four master’s degrees between us.

What started as a shared love of games and learning has become something bigger: a business that gives children a joyful, enriching experience — and gives parents a break without the stress of entertaining, supervising, or shelling out for games that just gather dust.

We created The Board Gamers to combine our skills, backgrounds, and massive personal board game library (yes, it’s taken over the living room) into something special.

A: Our sessions are designed for children aged 8 and above.

Q: Do parents need to stay home?

A: No, as long as a parent or guardian is contactable by phone throughout the session.

Q: Are you childcare providers?

A: Technically no — we are experienced tutors and session hosts with DBS checks and insurance, not registered childminders.

Q: How long are your sessions?

A: We offer flexible session lengths — we start at 1 hour but we encourage parents to book longer sessions to make the most of the opportunity, and as such we offer discounts for longer bookings.

Q: Can we request specific games?

A: Absolutely! You can request games or even provide your own — and we’re always happy to make recommendations.
